What is this 'Payment Gateway' you've been hearing?
According to wiki, a payment gateway is a merchant service provided by an e-commerce application service provider that authorizes credit card or direct payments processing for e-businesses, online retailers, bricks and clicks, or traditional brick and mortar.
In a nutshell, if you run an e-businesses that accepts money digitally (credit/debit card and fpx transfer), a payment gateway helps you with that.
We'll share an example on how a Payment Gateway helps you.
Afiq needs a pair of new running shoes. He browse the web and found an online shop that sells them. He made the purchase and pay for it directly on the web itself.
Bryan owns the shop. He get notice of a purchase, and a payment has been made to his account. He proceed with packing and delivering the product to Afiq.
On settlement day, Bryan gets his money.
Or if Bryan choose us, he don’t need to have an online shop (which is tedious to make, and even costly too! Hey, but he can, we do that too). He’ll just have to share his payment form and Afiq can make his payment directly there. There’s no need for hosting and domain fees, not even a web designer!
Let see what you should look for in a Payment Gateway

7. obviously, it must be secure
Avoid Payment Gateway Provider that operates on a server that do not have an assurance and are non-certified. Check this to ensure security and that they are free from hackers attacks. Make sure your provider are PCI-DSS certified and have a https authentication (when reaching the payment page, your URL will turn green! - also it will have a lock icon, which indicate it is secure).
8. by malaysian, for malaysian
Local ownership ensures that important decisions are made locally by people who live in the community and who will feel the impacts of those decisions.
